Black Friday Shopping

Home Depot imageI went shoppting at Home Depot today, the day after Thanksgiving. They had a Stanley toolboox on sale that I could not live without. I usually stay home on crazy shopping days like this but today I felt like joining in and becoming part of Americana.

I was in and out of the store in less than fifteen minutes. There was a helpful salesperson who found one of the last toolboxes for me. I skipped the self-service checkout and went through one staffed by a cheerful young employee who told me to have a nice day. I did see signs of more serious shoppers on the road and there was more traffic than usual but everything went so smoothly that I felt like I missed something.

I did manage to see several families impulse shopping from the large sale displays. I don't think they really needed the battery powered skillsaw, drill, flashlight and radio kit on sale but I could tell they liked the price. They got two.

My car was not as full as others but my wallet was only lighter by $30. It would have been even better but I couldn't resist the 50 screwdriver set for $9 they had next to the checkout station.

This car in front of me looked pretty full. I'd hate to get
that credit card bill...
